Functions Available in the Document Reader Feature

  1. OCR (Optical Character Recognition): If your document is scanned, you can utilize this feature. When you load a document, two options appear at the bottom of the screen: OCR this Page and OCR Entire File. Selecting “OCR this Page” will only process the currently visible page, while “OCR Entire File” converts the entire document into an editable format.
  2. Reader View: This feature is located at the top of the screen. If you prefer not to read line by line or swipe through pages, use this option. It will read the entire page at once.
  3. Audio Conversion: The Document Reader allows you to convert any page into audio format. A Play button at the bottom of your screen lets you start the audio conversion. Once processing is complete, the audio will play automatically through the My Player feature. The audio file will be saved in your device’s internal storage under Tech Freedom in the Audio Books section.
  4. Table of Contents: If your document includes a Table of Contents, simply click on the Table of Contents option on your screen. This will load the Table of Contents page of your document, where you can easily navigate to any chapter or topic of your choice. Just click on the desired chapter, and you’ll be taken directly to the page you want to read. This feature makes it super convenient to jump straight to the information you need, enhancing your reading experience with effortless navigation.
  5. Bookmarking Pages: To bookmark a page, tap the More option in the top right corner. The first option in the list is Add Bookmark. After clicking it, your page will be bookmarked. To revisit your bookmarks, click More again, and then select View Bookmarks to see all saved pages.
  6. Copying Text: If you need to copy text from your document, you can use TalkBack gestures or click on the More option in the top right corner to find the copy option in the list.
  7. Translation: To change the language of your document, click the More button in the top right corner and select the Translate option from the list. Alternatively, you can use TalkBack gestures directly on the screen. The text you want to translate will be pre-filled in an edit box, allowing you to choose your preferred language from a drop-down menu and click the Translate button. You can also share the translated text by clicking on the Share option in the More menu.
  8. Jump to a Page: When a document loads, right-swipe to hear the page number announced by the screen reader. Clicking on this option opens a Jump to Page dialog box where you can type the desired page number to go directly to it.
  9. Export Documents: You can export your document by clicking the “More” button and selecting the “Export” option from the list. Clicking on the “Export” option will open the Document Creator interface, where you will see a default file name that you can change if you wish. Your desired text will already be written in the body field edit box. Finally, choose the format for your document (either text or PDF) from the drop-down menu and click “Save.” Your exported document will be saved in the internal storage.
