Tech-Freedom is more than just an app. It’s the heartfelt effort of three young individuals who wanted to make a difference—not only in their own lives but in the lives of their community. What began as a shared goal of making the digital world more accessible for visually impaired individuals has blossomed into a powerful tool for independence and inclusion.
Our Journey
Our story started with a simple yet powerful desire: to help each other navigate the digital landscape with ease. As visually impaired individuals ourselves, we understood firsthand the challenges of interacting with technology. Instead of allowing these obstacles to hold us back, we chose to overcome them. Together, we set out on a mission that eventually gave birth to what is now known as Tech-Freedom.
Our mission wasn’t just about building an app. It was about creating solutions that would make a real impact on the lives of those around us. We envisioned a world where technology empowers rather than isolates. This vision led us to create Tech-Freedom—a cutting-edge Android application with features specifically designed to meet the unique needs of visually impaired individuals.
The Birth of V.I. Developers: Independence Through Technology
As we worked on Tech-Freedom, our passion for doing good in the community grew stronger. What started as a small project evolved into something much bigger: V.I. Developers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing independence through technology. We work tirelessly to cater to the specific needs of visually impaired individuals, always striving to make life easier and more enjoyable.
What Tech-Freedom Offers
Tech-Freedom has quickly become a valuable resource for visually impaired users, providing features that make everyday tasks more manageable. Our community loves our AI-driven tools like Scene Description and the TF Assistant, which offer greater independence and convenience.
One of our standout features is the Document and Image Reader, which supports a variety of file formats, making it easier to access important information. Through our partnership with elevenlabs.io, we provide lifelike Text-to-Speech (TTS) voices that convert text into audio, offering a more natural and immersive experience.
Another feature that has made a meaningful difference is the ability to detect the currency of Indian banknotes. This feature simplifies daily financial transactions for visually impaired individuals, giving them more control over their personal finances.
However, the feature that truly stands out in the hearts of our users is Voicify TTS, a tool that has been embraced with open arms by our community. It’s one of the many ways we’re ensuring our users feel heard and empowered.
